- Pencil to Portrait
- Although for 20 years my medium of choice has been pencil portraits, you may find my artwork is anything but “black and white.” I enjoy the challenge of recreating the grey area that comes from an individual’s depth and personality. Unlike many pencil drawings, my pictures are rich in details and texture. My examples on this page are to give you a glimpse of my work; however, these photocopies do not accurately distinguish the multilayered dimension that I most pride myself on. Using a unique method of layered texture lines, the fabrics, the hair, and even the skin of my portrait subjects are brought to a level of reality that is often only found in photography.
